Emma Weiss

Former undergraduate intern


Emma Weiss worked in the Agroecology lab in the Spring of 2018. She graduated from the University of Maryland in 2020 with a degree in Plant Biology and Agronomy. Emma worked with Resham Thapa in the Agroecology lab to study the efficacy of cover crops in nutrient sequestration. She loves the outdoors and spends her summers backpacking, traveling, growing vegetables, and getting her hands dirty! Emma has volunteered with the Baltimore Zoo, National Aquarium, Living Classrooms, and the Student Conservation Association, working on projects ranging from animal husbandry, public outreach, and working on a whale research boat to trail maintenance and organic farming. She has also been involved in service work abroad in Costa Rica and Ireland.
