Undergraduate Spring Intern (2025)
Yalissa is a Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) fellow at the Agroecology Lab. She is majoring in Environmental Science and Policy with a concentration in Biodiversity and Conservation and has a minor in Nonprofit Leadership and Social Innovation. Yalissa is interested in understanding how different cultures and traditions approach environmental stewardship and hopes to study this for her master's degree. Additionally, she is passionate about one day assisting in the environmental restoration efforts on Goree Island where her family is from.
Yalissa spends her time thrifting, helping the UMD Office of Sustainability as a student ambassador, adding to her photography/videography portfolio, collecting "old" technology, and dancing.
