Brian Moyer

Field technician

Brian’s love of the outdoors first sprouted as a child in the deep woods of Pennsylvania. He earned his BS in Biology (Ecology) from Penn State, where he studied the life history trade-off in Mountain Laurel (Kalmia latifolia). After graduation, he moved to Costa Rica, and worked as a animal caretaker and veterinary technician. While in Costa Rica, he campaigned to protect the habitat and wellbeing of the iconic Howler monkeys (Alouatta palliata). He joined the AgroEcology lab in May 2021. He is passionate about regenerative agriculture, sustainable biosystems, and microcontroller automation. His role as a lab technician furthers these interests as we explore the interplay of agriculture and the environment.
