Cami Miller

Undergraduate intern (Fall 2021-Spring 2022)

Cami is currently a senior at the University of Maryland working towards her degree in Biochemistry. She is very passionate about research and was very excited to join the Agroecology lab in Fall 2021. Before joining this lab Cami worked in the FIRE program for two years in the TBI (Transgenerational Brain Initiative) stream where she learned more about molecular biology, genetics, gene expression, and biochemistry from working with the model organism C. elegans. Through this experience she learned basic lab techniques and also how much she enjoyed conducting research.

Cami grew up in Boxford, which is a small town in Massachusetts and has always been concerned about climate change and preserving ecosystems. Because of this she was very excited to have the opportunity to learn more about mitigation/adaptation techniques to help with the ever-present challenge of sea level rise. In the future Cami hopes to further her education and receive a Masters in either climate research or genetics. Cami also works at the on campus gym as a lifeguard and in her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends.
