Agroecolab and Hughes Center for Agroecology Science Communication Internship

Adi Kolff is a Biology and Earth + Climate Science double major at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. He is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and fostered an interest for ecology and botany exploring the Adirondack State Park in upstate New York during summers with friends and family. His field experience includes measuring Blue Carbon levels in the salt marshes of coastal New England, monitoring ion transport and salinity in the Hart Brook watershed of Auburn, Maine, and documenting water column dynamics in Cochnewagon Pond. During a gap year in 2021, Adi explored the western United States with Pacific Discovery, accumulating basic skills in snow science, trail maintenance, soil surveying, and more. He joins the Agroecology Lab at the University of Maryland, College Park, for the summer of 2023 to help monitor the impacts of salt intrusion and marsh migration on the coast of Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware.
