Undergraduate Intern (Summer-Fall 2022)

Emily Haight is an Environmental Science and Technology major with a concentration in ecological technology design and a minor in Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is from Bethesda, Maryland and is interested in stormwater management, urban green infrastructure design and habitat restoration. She serves as the club secretary and Algal 'Terp' Scrubber project leader at UMD's American Ecological Engineering Society and works part-time for an environmental consulting group, Designgreen. Spending time in her family's garden while growing up sparked her initial interest in nutrition and food systems. She is excited to nurture her passion through Dr. Tully's Mapping Salty Soils project where she helps research impacts of saltwater intrusion on Maryland's Eastern Shore farms.
