Greg Ferraro

Postdoctoral Researcher

Dr. Greg Ferraro is a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Maryland working on the Options for Adapting to Rising Seas (OARS) project under the Salinity-Affected Lands in Transition (SALT) Program. In broad strokes, his primary research focuses on the health effects of chemical pollution and how natural resource users make investment decisions in light of environmental changes like pest pressures and coastal flooding. He also has some research experience in international development topics. He received a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Finance from the University of Maryland in 2014, a Masters in International Political Economy of Development and a Masters in Economics from Fordham University in 2020, and a PhD in Economics from North Carolina State University (with a minor in Genetic Engineering and Society) in 2026. He completed a Peace Corps service in Cameroon in 2016 and a Fulbright Public Policy Scholarship in Cote d’Ivoire in 2021. Outside of research, Greg is a triathlete, a runner, an abysmal (but aspirational) French speaker, and an avid reader of nonfiction, fantasy, and sci-fi.
