Carrie Anderson

Undergraduate Intern (Summer 2022)

Carrie Anderson is an Environmental Science and Policy major with a concentration in environmental geoscience and restoration at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is interested in how geology can inform understanding of ecosystem function and services. With a background of coursework in hydrology, geomorphology, and urban and agriculture restoration, Carrie looks forward to a career combating climate change by working with the Earth’s natural resources. She is from Rockville MD, is an active member of UMD’s environmental science professional fraternity Epsilon Eta, and enjoyed her time interning with MaryPIRG’s Student Climate Action Coalition. Through the Summer ‘22 Joint-Internship with Dr. Tully and the Harry Hughes Center for Agroecology, she is excited to research saltwater intrusion and communicate the findings to stakeholders in critical sectors. Carrie hopes to hone in on her understanding of current agricultural issues in Maryland, and become a confident advocate of smart climate action at the local level.
