Silver Alford

Field technician

Silver Alford began working in the Agroecology lab in the winter of 2019. They majored in Environmental Science and Policy with a concentration in Politics and Policy. They are interested in global food systems, food justice, and sea level rise. Silver assists in lab work that evaluates the relationship between nutrient releases from coastal agricultural lands and saltwater intrusion. Silver grew up around Lake Watts Bar in East Tennessee. This sparked their curiosity about the environment and subsequently their research in agroecology and agronomy.
